William Labov - One notable American sociolinguist who fits the criteria of our Vision- known for his work on African American Vernacular English (AAVE).

Andrés Bello - A prominent Spanish language expert was a Venezuelan humanist known for his significant contributions to Spanish grammar, literature, and education.

Theodor Benfey - was a German philologist known for his contributions to the study of Indo-European languages, particularly Sanskrit

Tsutomu Sugimoto - A renowned Japanese language expert was known for his work on Japanese grammar and phonetics.

Shen Congwen (沈从文) - A notable Mandarin language expert was known as a writer and literary figure, Shen Congwen made significant contributions to the study and promotion of Mandarin Chinese through his writings and linguistic observations.
